Iron alloyed powder

Diffusion bonded

Diffusion bonded homogeneous powders are used to guarantee gigh mechanical characteristics.
Due to a processing called diffusion bonding, iron particles are connected with small particles of alloying elements i.e Ni, Cu, Mo. This bond is carefully controlled in order to guarantee that the powder maintains compressibility and flowability while increases homogeneity

Product families

FerAlloy CU10
Blend of iron powder (type Fersint RI) with high Cu powders addition and processed in "diffusion bond" line
Description of the material and main chemical components

Blend of iron powder (type Fersint RI) with high Cu powders addition and processed in "diffusion bond" line

Description of the manufacturing process

Blending, homogenisation, diffusion bonding, sieving

Typical applications

Sintering of ferrous parts

Particle shape

Irregular with Cu small particles bonded on main Iron particles

Main characteristic

Presence of Cu through Bonding process grants homogenity of distribution of this element

Particle upper cut size (full range)

180

Particle upper cut size (typical)

180

Apparent density (typical)

2.9

Application notes

Normally used as additive to provide Copper to the mix

Recommended packaging

BB 1000

Type Upper cut size(µm) Ot % Apparent density(g/cm3) Added elements
Cu10 180 0.15 2,75 to 3,05 Cu at 10%
FerAlloy DB1
Blend of iron powder (type Fersint RI) with Cu, Ni, Mo powders and processed in "diffusion bond" line
Description of the material and main chemical components

Blend of iron powder (type Fersint RI) with Cu, Ni, Mo powders and processed in "diffusion bond" line

Description of the manufacturing process

Blending, homogenisation, diffusion bonding, sieving

Typical applications

Sintered products requiring good hardness and mechanical resistance. Alloying elements provide good resistance after sintering and eventually support subsequent thermal treatments

Particle shape

Irregular with Ni, Mo, Cu small particles bonded on main Iron particles

Main characteristic

Presence of Ni, Cu, Mo allow high final structural performances and permit further improvement after thermal treatment

Particle upper cut size (full range)

180

Particle upper cut size (typical)

Apparent density (typical)

3.05

Application notes

DB1 is normally used with simple addition of graphite and lubricant. Eventual thermal treatments are normally done as separate operation.

Recommended packaging
