85 Years of Powder Metallurgy

2025 is a milestone year for us: it marks 85 years of Pometon history.

What began in 1940 has become a legacy of excellence, establishing us as one of the leading companies in the production of metal powders.

This milestone would not have been possible without the passion and dedication of those who, every day, work tirelessly to meet the ever-changing needs of the market. We are constantly committed to building an even brighter and more successful path.

 

Our milestones

Our history begins on May 22^nd 1940, the year of foundation by Eng. Sergio Toniolo of Polveri e Metalli Spa, a company dedicated to the production of metal powders.

In 1978, Metallurgica Toniolo was born, designed with the best technologies of the time for the production of abrasives and iron powder.

In 1990 the two companies merged and created Pometon Spa.

The internationalization phase began in 1962, with the opening of branches in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, India and the second production site in Serbia, creating a global network.

 

The evolution of our products

Our consolidated experience has allowed us to experiment and innovate, to satisfy a market in constant technological evolution. At Pometon we produce cutting-edge metal powders and grits, committed to continuous growth.

From the first applications, today Pometon products are used in a multitude of sectors. Starting from the more traditional automotive sector, we have dedicated ourselves to developing new products to also respond to the growing demand in the electric vehicle sector. In the energy market, we have developed powders for solar panels and other applications that will aid the transition to green energy.

 

Our future projects

The changes in the global climate and energy landscape have put us in front of new challenges. Pometon has decided to play an active role in the process of reducing the impact of climate change, by developing global projects that utilize iron powder as a green energy source whilst in parallel acting as a hydrogen carrier.
